Antique Tan Labrador Retriever Dog Pottery Wall Plaque 1930

This is an original Labrador Retriever pottery wall plaque, measuring 14" across and stamped with the makers mark "C&Co. Cope and company who where Staffordshire potters from 1887 to 1947, this plaque is signed by the artist Stanley Thorogood and inscribed "Sweep Type of Whitmore" it is this inscription which makes this plaque historically very interesting, as the dog was a Labrador who was born in 1909 and is known as one of the foundation stones upon which the breed was built, this very rare dog antique is in good original condition.
