I believe this was issued black for ships during WW2 so that the light didn't reflect on the brass. This is a wind up clock with key provided.
The casing has a few minor chips in the paint with the brass showing through. The enamelled face has a little damage, which can mostly be seen when the door is opened. When the door is closed there is only a small part of the damage that can be seen.No wall fixing supplied but should be brass screws. Size approx, overall diameter 9", face 7" x 4 d. Can collect from Chigwell, Essex, if preferred. The item "Vintage Smiths Ships Bulkhead Wall Clock, Brass and Enamel" is in sale since Sunday, April 28, 2019.
