The back has a small write-up on the Muskellunge fish. The head is chalkware and the back/frame is foil over composition material. 11" tall by 9 1/4" wide by 4 deep / off the wall. The chalk /head has in the mold: The Embosograf Co. Wire hanger on back for mounting.
The plaque itself is made of foil over a composite mat. Chalk muskie head is original, with original paint decoration; some chip damage in the mouth area. Backing is complete and original; no breaks or repairs, but a few dots of paint in an area or two.Conrad Pfeiffer (March 7, 1854-April 24, 1911). He was born in Germany, possibly Wurzburger, but moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1871, founding the Conrad Pfeiffer Brewery in 1889. In 1902, it became known as the Pfeiffer Brewing Co.
Which remained its name even after prohibition. With falling sales, in 1962 they changed the name to a more generic Associated Brewing Co. But that only lasted four years with the brewery closing for good in 1966. A rescue from an estate in metro Detroit Michigan. I want/hope they find new homes with appreciative owners/collectors.
